OUTREACH TEAM REPORT FOR 2008

A new Outreach Team was put into effect during 2008. The Outreach Team's purpose is to reach outside LCC's walls and into the community. The Team is continually trying to find ways in which LCC can become a vital force in recognizing the filling the needs of our surrounding community.

The current members are Jean Hineman, Katherine Ehlert, and Linda Sosnowski.

Some of the events that this Team has recently been involved in have been working with the E-Team at the Mane Event in Arlington Heights. This team also offered a free babysitting and gift wrapping over the holidays. The Team had nine children outside of LCC participate in this event and a few individuals took advantage of our free gift wrapping.

The Team is currently investigating some ideas for 2009. They could include events like "Trunk or Treat", Pet Blessing Service, a summer event and free gift wrapping and babysitting.

Toys and money were donated to Cross and Crown Lutheran Church for their Nursery School after it was learned that their church was severely vandalized just before Christmas. The toys and money collected by our congregation were delivered and graciously accepted and appreciated by Pastor Randy at this church.

We are looking for ideas and individuals for this new developing team this year. If you have some ideas or would like to join our Team, please talk to Jean Hineman, Katherine Ehlert, or Linda Sosnowski.
