Share God's Love

Our people share God's Love through their ministry far beyond the walls of our building. We have organized ourselves for mission and ministry in the name of Jesus Christ.
We welcome all people to experience and accept God's love. Come grow together with us in faith and service as the family of God.
Rev. Dr. Greg Villalon

SAVE THE DATE:
ANNUAL
CONGREGATION MEETING

Sunday January 29, 2012

Please note that the annual congregational meeting will be held on Sunday January 29, 2012. We will have a single service at 10am followed by fellowship and the meeting. If you have any reports or information to inclue in the annual report, please get them to Kathy in the office by Wednesday January 11.

Ushers Needed

Thank you to everyone that has been an usher or has signed up to be an usher. We still have a few openings available if you are able to help.

Greeters Needed

Thanks to everyone who has already volunteered. Greeters are still needed for the 9am service on the following Sundays: Feb. 12, 19, and 26 and March 4 & 25. Sign up sheets are on the table in Fellowship Hall.

Poinsettia Garden

Thank you to everyone who ordered poinsettia plants to decorate the Church Sanctuary for Christmas. Please feel free to take your plant home after worship service.

joy

The Lord has done great things for us and we are filled with Joy -- Psalm 126:3

Lutheran Church of the Cross will be 50 years old this year. The first Sunday service was June 19, 1960 where 46 people worshipped at Dryden School in Arlington Heights.

Watch the weekly bulletins, monthly newsletter and the LCC website for updates on the year-long activities. Tentative plans include monthly anniversary events, highlighted by the dedication of new banners in July, congregational photo in August, a banquet in October, hymn-sing of the congregation's favorites in November, organ recital in February, jubilee of the LCC Charter signing in March, a community egg hunt in April and ending the year with the sealing of a time capsule in March. We are asking for volunteers for short term commitments to help with each event. The first request goes out regarding the banquet--preliminary work has already been done, with the date and location selected, but more helping hands are needed.

Join the JOY TEAM of Joey Pacay, Carol Campbell, Diane Finney, and Tanya Haak.

FOOD PANTRY:
COATS NEEDED!

The food pantry is requesting
winter coats and jackets. Please
check your closets for coats and
jackets that you are no longer
using. We also need plastic
grocery bags that are
in good shape.

PROVIDE A
"HELPING HAND" :

From the
Helping Hands Ministry:

Just a reminder that we
frequently have members of
our church family who need
assistance with rides, meal
delivery or small chores.
Accomplishing these tasks can
seem insurmountable especially
to those who are recovering from
hospitalization. If you can help
by cooking or providing a
"helping hand" in another way,
please sign up on the poster
in the fellowship hall.
